Permit Assistance Questions

Do I Need a Permit?

To determine whether a permit may apply to your business activities, review the questions below. Answer “yes” or “no” and follow up with the appropriate program.

Permit Types

Permits may be general or individual. Individual permits are site-specific and require public review. General permits are pre-approved and typically faster to obtain.

Air Construction and Operating

  • Will your business install equipment that emits air contaminants?
  • Will your business expand with emission-producing equipment?
  • Will you install an incinerator or bake-off oven?
  • Will you install standby generators?
  • Will you install an aggregate or asphalt plant?
  • Will you operate surface coating or painting operations?
