Motor Vehicle Miles Traveled in Nebraska


According to the data table below, travel on all roads and streets in Nebraska in September 2026 was less than one percent (0.6%) higher compared to the same month a year ago. September 2026 travel decreased 1.2 percent, or 24 million miles, from last month.

September travel was above the five–year average miles traveled and sitting on the upper boundary of the five–year range. Miles traveled in September 2026 were relatively the same number of miles traveled in September 2025 (last year). (Figure 1)

Figure 1 shows the motor vehicle miles traveled in Nebraska this year compared to last year's miles traveled, the five-year average, and the five-year range.
