Crude Oil Wellhead Prices in Nebraska


The average wellhead price of crude oil increased $4.55 to $58.27 per barrel in February 2026 from January 2026. February's monthly average price was $6.72 lower than the average price of $64.99 in the same month last year. The record high monthly average was set in June 2008 at $123.77 per barrel. The record low monthly average was set in December 1998 at $8.63 per barrel.

The annual average price of $58.60 for 2025 was a decrease of $11.22 from $69.82 in 2024. Figure 1 shows that the annual average of $89.20 per barrel for 2022 beat the record high of $87.99 set in 2008.

The annual average record low was set in 1978 at $11.40 per barrel. The earliest data recorded is for the year 1978.
