Ethanol-Blended Fuel Consumption

In Nebraska, most ethanol is sold in a blended fuel—10 percent ethanol with 90 percent gasoline (called E–10) or 85 percent ethanol with 15 percent gasoline (called E85). There are ethanol-blended fuels in additional percentages that are included in the numbers below. The reports on motor gasoline consumption and the total of both motor gasoline and ethanol–blended fuel consumption have additional information in relation to ethanol–blended fuel consumption.

Annual Data

As reflected in Figure 1 and the data table below, ethanol–blended fuel consumption in 2025 was 787,830,937 gallons, which was a decrease of less than one percent (0.16%) from consumption in 2024 of 789,057,999 gallons.

Figure 1 is a line graph showing annual ethanol-blended fuel consumption in Nebraska.

Monthly Data

As shown in the data table below, ethanol-blended fuel consumption in December was 64,781,267 gallons. This was 1.6 percent less than a year ago but 4.5 percent higher than a month ago. December 2025 consumption was below December 2024's (last year's) consumption, just above the five–year average, and in the upper half of the five–year range. (Figure 2)
